A Culture of Giving
The Lyons Community Foundation (LCF) accepts your tax deductible donation. All contributions to LCF are deductable for estate, income and gift tax purposes. Please consider including LCF as part of your will or other charitable giving plans. This is truly an investment in our community.

Something for everyone
Two giving campaigns:

  • Mortar Supporters.
  • This level of donor makes a donation in any amount less than $100.00 and a pledge for continued support for at least two (2) additional years. LCF has several donors who have consistently donated in amounts that are right and comfortable for them - we want to give you the opportunity to make a pledge to continually support LCF. Click here for the donation and pledge form.
  • Sustaining Stone Contributors.
  • These contributors also make a pledge for 3 years of giving, in specific levels that fall within one of the categories below.  These categories are based on qualities of stone - in recognition of Lyons’ stone industry and history.
Blue Top - $500 or more annually for 3 or more years
Pink Stone - $250-$499 annually for 3 or more years
Red Sandstone - $100-$249 annually for 3 or more year

(If you know of individuals, families or businesses who might be interested in becoming a Supporting or Sustaining Contributor, please let the Gifts Committee know and we will contact them) Click here for a list of our Stone Contributors.
  • Donation Form.
  • If you are not ready to pledge an amount over time but would like to give, please use this form.

LCF introduced two programs in 2008 that you might be interested in supporting.
  • Basic Needs and Emergency Fund
  • LCF saw a great need in the community for a Basic Needs and Emergency Fund to be made available to individuals and families in our community who have an urgent situation for which economic assistance would be helpful. LCF created this fund with $2,000 through the Lyons Community Church. Since its start in July 2008, Rev. Claire McNulty-Drewes reported that funds went to housing related needs (utilities, rent and emergency housing); food related needs; medical emergencies; and to meet transportation needs. Additional funds have been granted and most recently $5,000 was allocated as part of a generous gift to LCF from the Blue Mountain Foundation. Donations can be given directly to the church for this fund or through LCF. For more information about the Basic Needs and Emergency Fund please contact Rev. Claire at (303) 532-6840, claire@lyonscommunitychurch.com.
  • Lyons Community Foundation Scholarship Fund in Memory of Steve Ralston
  • Steve was an active leader in the Lyons community with a passion for learning. In memory of Steve, a fund has been established through LCF for the purpose of providing a scholarship to a senior student enrolled at Lyons Senior High School. The student who receives this merit-based scholarship must demonstrate a range of interests, a passion for pursuit of learning, and exemplary knowledge of and commitment to the Lyons community. The scholarship funds may be used for any accredited post-secondary education program. The first scholarship was presented by Christine Ralston to Andrew Roberts, May 2009. LCF Founding Contributors

LCF Founding Contributors is a special group of donors contributing to LCF and showing a commitment to this new organization that is impressive both in its amount and its timing. We are very aware of the trust that the Founding Contributors have placed in LCF by providing us with both operational and granting funds so early in LCF's existence. We very much appreciate their generosity of spirit.

Currently, the Founding Contributors consist of the following individuals, families and entities: Please click here to view the LCF Founding Contributors.

Centurion Cycling kick off

You may have heard the exciting news that Centurion Cycling is kicking off its 2010 season with a huge bicycle ride on July 18 starting and ending in Lyons. The Lyons Community Foundation plans to be a part of it and we need your help! For every 25 to 30 LCF volunteers, Centurion will donate $500 to your favorite foundation, the LCF. Sign up today and if we get 100 volunteers, the LCF would end up with $2000!

The ride will start in Lyons and there are three courses--25, 50, and 100 miles. The organizers are looking for over 400 volunteers, so there are lots of jobs to choose from, mostly at Bohn Park on July 17 or 18 (or in Boulder on July 14). All you need to do for LCF to get credit is to go the Centurion web site at www.centurioncycling.com and click on Volunteer and then on Colorado Volunteering. This will show you all the jobs that are available. Check the job you want to volunteer for and then at the bottom of the page, right below t-shirt size, in the box next to "If you are associated with a group or organization, please list the name here:" enter "Lyons Community Foundation."

Please also send a note to Dorothy Pellouchoud (dorothypellouchoud@gmail.com) letting her know that you've signed up so that the LCF can keep track of how many volunteers we have and be sure to get credit. Or stop by Steamboat Mountain Natural Foods to put your name on our list.

As a special incentive, if you volunteer, Centurion will waive your registration fee for the event (valued at $60 to $125). The 50- and 100-mile routes are tough mountain rides so you'd better be in shape, but the 25-mile loop is a favorite flat training ride for local cyclists.

This will be one of the most exciting events of the summer in Lyons and LCF will be proudly displayed with our volunteers, banners, and brochures. It's all part of making Lyons the most exciting spot on the Front Range! Please sign up today and list Lyons Community Foundation as your group. If you have any questions, talk to Dorothy at Steamboat Mountain Natural Foods or call Bill Palmer at 823-8284.
